I’ve been sick for several days and not at my sharpest, and I didn’t want to post something this week that I’d tried to hack together through the brain fog. I went looking at the parables I posted about a year ago, and here’s one of my personal favorites.

Definitely worth a re-read. I’m so grateful that my judge is also my advocate and is probably more patient with my shortcomings than I am.

Thanks, Maerhwyn! Jesus can be our advocate in part because He has firsthand knowledge of our struggles, our desires, and our motivations. Therefore He can judge us for not just our actions but also our true desires (see Alma 41:3 and Doctrine and Covenants 137:9). That’s encouraging to me.
