The Weekly Parable

In lieu of a parable this week, with it being Christmastime, I’d like to offer you a simple testimony of Him whom Christians celebrate at this time of year.

One night as a 19-year-old, over 5500 miles from home, I knelt in prayer and asked Heavenly Father if Jesus Christ is His Son. Through the Holy Ghost, He answered me. Because of that brief but real and meaningful experience, and experiences since, I know that Jesus came from heaven to earth, humbling Himself to be born as we all are, to fulfill the Father’s plan to redeem His children. I know that Jesus has power to respond to us in our times of need. He lives, and His deepest and most earnest desire is for us to receive Him, to follow Him, and to return to our Father in Heaven.

Merry Christmas, and may the peace of Christ be yours—on Christmas Day and always.
