An Upcoming Milestone and Other News

Late last May, I felt impressed to set a goal to write and publish 100 of my own parables by the third anniversary of launching The Weekly Parable, which falls near the end of April. At the time, I had published 70. To be honest, after having written that many, writing another 30 seemed like a tall order.

Almost 10 months later, I have reached 99 parables, thanks to guidance from the Holy Ghost. This number excludes the contributions of David Armstrong and Christine Stewart, who added a number of others (and for which I’m grateful), and the posts linking to parables told by leaders of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints or discussing types of Christ in the scriptures.

As I’ve considered the topic for the 100th parable, the main elements I thought of reminded me of the Parable of the Custodian, so I’ll point you to that parable for this week. The only element that I might have added is how the work the custodian was doing was for the promotion and glory of someone else. I anticipate posting the hundredth parable next week.

In trying to decide what to do with this site after I reached this milestone, I’ve decided this will be the last new parable unless, on occasion, a compelling idea comes to me. Instead, I’ll focus on writing a weekly interpretation article for the parables I haven’t done that with yet.

For those who are still reading, thanks for sticking around, and I hope you have found these posts to be uplifting and have strengthened your faith in Christ. Back to that missing element in the Parable of the Custodian, the purpose of the parables on this site have been to glorify the Lord. I hope that the writings on this site have been pleasing to Him.
